The New York Giants know better than anybody that in the NFL you can never have enough pass rushers. That’s why they selected Youngstown State defensive end Avery Moss in the fifth round of the NFL draft (167th overall).

In his two seasons at Youngstown State, Moss recorded 84 tackles, 13.0 sacks, 22.0 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles and five pass breakups in just 25 games.

Before Youngstown State, Moss began his college career at Nebraska where he had 4.5 sacks and an interception return for a touchdown as a redshirt freshman.

He had a decent showing at the NFL combine running a 4.79 in the 40-yard dash, bench pressed 225 pounds 14 times, and his vertical jump was 32.5.

At 6-foot-3, 264 pounds, he has the ideal size to be an edge rusher in the NFL. He may not see much time on defense in 2017 with the Giants have two Pro Bowl caliber defensive ends in Jason Pierre-Paul and Olivier Vernon. But he will come in to give them a breather and should be a contributor to special teams.
