New York Knicks‘ Carmelo Anthony’s separation was tainted via the gossip rags while Kristaps Porzingis is excited about playing for Latvia.
TMZ reported on Monday that Carmelo Anthony and his wife of seven years, La La, were separating. The gossip site contradicted their initial report on Tuesday when they dropped a bombshell about the circumstances surrounding the celebrity pair.
A woman who works at a gentleman’s club in New York City is claiming to be six months pregnant with Melo’s child.
Per TMZ, the woman “has made it clear to Melo she expects him to kick in for medical expenses and other baby-related costs.”
The gossip site claims that sources close to both parties have told them “the marriage has been rocky for awhile.”
Kristaps Porzingis might be unhappy with the Knicks and Phil Jackson right now, but he’s thrilled at the prospect of playing for the Latvian National Team again.

“I would like to help the team get to the second round and have a great campaign,” Porzingis told FIBA.com. “We have good potential and we can have a very competitive national team. Basketball has been growing a lot in my country, and I enjoy witnessing it. Some guys are having great seasons, and we have some great veterans that can still have a great impact on the national team.”
Porzingis is talking about playing at FIBA EuroBasket which runs from Aug. 31 to Sept. 17 in Istanbul. If he plays, the unicorn will be joined by Knicks teammates Willy Hernangomez (Spain) and Mindaugas Kuzminskas (Lithuania).
The 21-year-old is reportedly having a press conference next week in his hometown of Leipaja. If he’s going to play, he’ll make the announcement then.
With the future of their franchise experiencing injury problems throughout the regular season, the Knicks can’t be thrilled about the possibility of him playing a two-week tournament in the offseason.
Especially after the drama surrounding his exit interview. It’s getting more interesting with Porzingis.
