New York Mets struggling veteran Jose Reyes has been struggling at the plate as of late, but he does not seem to be too concerned.

New York Mets veteran infielder Jose Reyes still only has one hit so far this season and has only drawn one walk, not the type of production the Mets are looking for from the leadoff spot.

However, despite the recent struggles ate the plate, Reyes does not seem too concerned regarding his hitting.

“I’m not swinging the bat too good right now,” Reyes said. “I’m working to put it together. The more I play, the more comfortable I’m going to feel. I know I’m going to hit. It’s only five games into the season. I know what I’m capable of doing.”

It seems like the switch-hitter might be trying too hard at the plate, he has been seen swinging the bat much harder as of late rather than just making contact.

“I think he’s over-swinging right now,” manager Terry Collins said before Sunday night’s game. “He’s always been an aggressive guy. He’s never been a big walk guy, but I think now he’s trying way too hard.

It seems like the only way for Reyes to break out from this deep slump is to just take it slow and let the game come to him because right now he just seems lost.
