New York Yankees backstop Gary Sanchez silences the haters with a towering home run against the Baltimore Orioles.

This hits just keep coming from the New York Yankees. Gary Sanchez wanted in on the fun too.

Holliday had already driven in all three runs for the Yankees but Sanchez padded the lead with a monster shot of his own. Sanchez turned on an 83 MPH splitter from Ubaldo Jimenez to add two more runs.

Jimenez was promptly taken out of the game after Sanchez’ homer found the seats in the second deck of the left-field stands.

Sanchez, who had previously gone 1-for-16 on the season, breathed a sigh of relief as he watched the product of his swing go soaring off into the night sky.

The two-run shot also scored Brett Gardner, who has scored three of the Yankees’ five runs tonight. But that’s not all that’s impressive about his shot. Look at the stats behind it, per MLB.com reporter David Adler.

Still think Gary Sanchez is a bust? Just watch what he did at the plate tonight. He’s still got the magic in him.
