The New York Jets have a plan at quarterback according to head coach Todd Bowles. Plus the arrogant LaVar Ball once bled gang green blood when he played for the team.

The who will start at quarterback question wasn’t answered at the NFL owners’ meetings in Phoenix. While that wasn’t clarified, the signing of Josh McCown didn’t close the door on who will start at quarterback this Fall for the New York Jets, apparently.

ESPN’s Rich Cimini reported at the owners’ meetings that Todd Bowles is calling it an “open competition” that includes everyone on the current roster.

“There will be heavy competition for the job,” Bowles said. “Nobody has been promised the starting quarterback job. They’ll all get a chance to play and we’ll make that decision, going forward, when training camp starts as we see production from certain people.”

But apparently, the quarterback room may not be finished according to Bowles. There is also a scenario in which the Jets will add a quarterback with that valuable sixth overall draft selection.

Interesting conversation for sure, as it always is, every year, but let’s try to stay positive and believe in ourselves. Which no one does better than one LaVar Ball, who’s name I’m sure you recognize.

You may have seen his bold proclamations in your local newspaper, or perhaps on one of the major media networks that he continues to get invited on. While I’ll let you decide if he garners votes as the “Father of the Year” another time.

But the reason why we bring him up in a daily Jets article is because, DID YOU KNOW, he once suited up for the team? Shocked? I am too.

Yes once upon a time, LaVar Ball, donned gang green in the early 1990’s trying to make it as a defensive lineman one year and a tight end the next.

Yes, this is the same guy that said he’s school Michael Jordan one-on-one. Also, the same guy who averaged just a hair over two points per game playing for Washington State.
