Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker made history with his incredible scoring effort Friday night against the Boston Celtics.
Devin Booker can’t legally drink alcohol, and he looks like he’s never used a razor, but that didn’t stop him from making history on Friday night. The Phoenix Suns guard, 20, just became the sixth player in NBA history to score 70 points or more in a game.
The other five players are Wilt Chamberlain (who did it a staggering six times), David Robinson, Elgin Baylor, David Thompson, and Kobe Bryant.
Booker scored 70 points on the road against the Boston Celtics in a 130-120 loss. Some highlights from his night are the 24 makes out of his 26 free throw attempts and the 51 second half points. Yes, he scored 51 of his 70 points in the final 24 minutes.
Booker’s 70 points are more than the great Michael Jordan ever scored in a single game. The GOAT only reached 69 points back in March of 1990. That’s how awesome Friday night was for the youngster.
Regardless of how bad Phoenix is right now — and they are horrible I mean Booker scored 70 points and finished with a minus-6 — the youngster clearly has a bright future.
