A Colorado woman, Michelle Marie Thompson, took her obsession with Tim Tebow to far as she was arrested for trespassing after stalking the former quarterback.

We all know that girls love baseball players, but one woman took her love for a baseball player too far. A woman from Colorado has been arrested for trespassing after stalking Tim Tebow at the New York Mets spring training facility, via Katie Strang of ESPN.

According to the Port St. Lucia police incident report, Michelle Marie Thompson was loitering around the player’s parking lot on February 26, looking for and asking questions about Tim Tebow. Mets staff member told police that there was a woman in the player’s parking lot. Police noticed that Thompson had a sticker on the back of her driver’s license that read “I (Heart Symbol) Jesus/Tim Tebow.”

Police asked Thompson if she was in any kind of relationship with the former Heisman trophy winner. She said that she was in a romantic and matrimonial relationship with the former quarterback. She was issued a trespass warning and advised to leave the area. However, she returned to the facility on February 28 and was arrested for trespassing.

Thompson remains incarcerated and is being held on a $750 bond, according to Kristie Ackert and Christian Red of the New York Daily News. The former quarterback addressed the arrest on Friday before the Mets played the Atlanta Braves.

“I wish her the best and just pray for her,” he said. “I want her to get as much help as she needs as possible, but at the same time you learn to try to compartmentalize. It’s not always easy, but it’s something you have to try to do as an athlete.”

Tebow, who is now pursuing a baseball career, signed a minor-league deal with the Mets last year. He hit .194(12for 62) in 19 games in the Arizona Fall league last year. On Wednesday he made his Mets debut and struck out twice and got hit by a pitch.
