Especially for the NCAA Tournament and March Madness, Pizza Hut has gone mad as it has made shoes that u can order pizza from.
Do you need to order a pizza? There’s now a shoe for that. Seriously. Pizza Hut has unveiled Pie Tops, which are basketball shoes that you can order pizza from.
The shoes are part of Pizza Hut’s March Madness promotion. The pizza chain is the official pizza of the NCAA, March Madness and the Final Four. The Pie Tops are equipped with Bluetooth communication from a smart button inside the shoe’s tongue. The smart button connects the shoes to the user’s smartphone and the Pie Tops app, which allows the user to press the button and instantly order a pizza, according to PR Newswire.
“It’s always important that we make it easy for fans to order the Pizza Hut pizza they love without missing a moment of the March Madness action,” David Daniels, vice president of Media and Advertising for Pizza Hut said. “We know pizza is a fan favorite during the NCAA College Basketball Tournament, and our special-edition Pie Tops are a culturally-timed creative expression of our commitment to providing the easiest pizza ordering and delivery experience possible.”
March Madness legend Grant Hill stars in the pizza chain’s latest ad to show how easy it is to order pizza with the shoes. Only 64 pairs of the shoes were made since 64 teams make the March Madness field, according to Tim Nudd of AdWeek.
So now the question is, will people actually use the shoes to order pizza?
