It’s officially time to strip off your clothes and start partying. The New York Mets will allow Tim Tebow to play with the big boys Wednesday.

Well, it’s happening. Despite your best wishes or worst fears, the mega individual named Tim Tebow will, indeed, play with the big boys of camp.

According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, the New York Mets will use Tebow at the DH spot during Wednesday’s game against the Boston Red Sox.

This means (unless Terry Collins goes with a complete B-team that day), Tebow will be playing alongside Yoenis Cespedes, Curtis Granderson, Neil Walker and maybe, just maybe, Jose Reyes. Just a couple years out of football and the Heisman Trophy winner will be participating in a game against the reigning AL Cy Young award winner, Rick Porcello.

Obviously, we already know that Tebow is in Port St. Lucie as a member of the Mets minor league camp. The Amazins sport the rare setup in which they split the two camps.

We also already know the Wilpons are capitalizing on the marketing machine Tebow is, as the merchandise is showcased in full.

What we don’t know is what the quarterback turned rookie baseball player will do against Porcello on Wednesday. Odds are, he’ll look completely overmatched.

But as many say, “That’s why they play the game.”
