New York Knicks’ Jeff Hornacek said that management has taken over the offense. The next 22 games are a triangle offense try out.
Since they New York Knicks came back from the All-Star break there’s been some changes to the offense. They had been running a pick-and-roll heavy offense for a majority of the season under their new head coach Jeff Hornacek. With the team struggling at the break, they decided to run more of Phil Jackson’s triangle offense in the second half of the season.
Hornacek told Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News, “There is more of (the triangle). I couldn’t give you a percentage,” Hornacek said. “But it’s definitely more.”
Per Bondy, Hornacek moved to the triangle to try and help out the team’s pathetic defense. Well, now the team has expressed an even greater commitment to Jackson’s triangle. One for the future.
According to Hornacek, management (meaning Jackson) will use the remainder of this lost season to determine which players fit in Jackson’s trademark system.

So Jackson is still coaching the team as an executive. As former Knicks head coach Larry Brown pointed out, that can’t work.
Hornacek will never really have control over this team as long as Phil is calling the shots.
