Karl-Anthony Towns and Isaiah Thomas lead the way on Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, when it comes to Daily Fantasy Basketball plays.

The NBA season is winding down and it is more important than ever to pay attention to the injury reports and who is in the coach’s doghouse.

For teams that are out of the playoff race, they will start to play their younger players to see what they have in them. For the teams that are locking up playoff spots, they tend to give their starters more nights off to rest up for a playoff run.

The DFS players that pay attention to the injury report and keep in mind total playing time from here on out will enjoy the fruits of that hard work. Good luck on Monday’s slate and pay attention to the updates before the games.

Let me know how I did on these picks and who I missed.

Point Guard:

Isaiah Thomas vs Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks have been bad at defending the guard position all year. In the team’s first meeting, Thomas scored 28 points, had nine assist and grabbed four rebounds. This game will have a nice over-under and Thomas can easily score 35 points tonight. Attack this game.

Dennis Schroder vs Boston Celtics

This year, a lot of people have made money attacking Boston’s point guard. Schroder is a great tournament play tonight because he has the chance to put up 50 Draft Kings points but also has the chance to throw up a dud. Players like Schroder will win you a tournament or be the reason why you miss out on cashing. Start Schroder with confidence in a game that should stay close between two eastern conference playoff teams.

Cory Joseph vs New York Knicks

If Kyle Lowry is ruled out, then plug Joseph in every lineup that you have. If Lowry is playing, feel free to start him as well. Both Raptor point guards are great plays on this slate. Joseph has done a good job this year in spot starts for Lowry and now he gets to play against the weak Knicks defense. The news on Lowry should come out early in the day which could make Joseph a very high owned player which is fine, take the points and the money you will save on him to get the other elite players tonight.

Shoot Guard:

DeMar DeRozan vs New York Knicks

Even if Lowry plays, DeRozan will be an elite play tonight. The Knicks have nobody on the roster who can guard DeRozan and this game has the chance to be the highest scoring of the night. The Knicks and Raptors game will be under looked on this slate and everyone should take advantage of the lower ownership of players who are in this great matchup.

Seth Curry vs Miami Heat

The other Curry has benefited greatly now that the Mavericks are officially in tank the season mode. He has averaged over 34 minutes a game over the last four and has been one of the focal points in the offense. This isn’t a great matchup on paper but when a player has a good price tag and is going to receive close to 35 minutes, you play them.

Lou Williams vs Indiana Pacers

Lou Will has thrived on his new team and now he is going against a weak Indiana defense. Houston is always one of the top scoring teams on the night and this game won’t be any different. He has averaged over 20 points a game with the Rockets and he will be a good tournament play on this slate.

Small Forward:

Andrew Wiggins vs Sacramento Kings

Ever since the Zach LaVine was lost for the season, Andrew Wiggins has taken his game to another level. He now gets the worst team in the NBA and he should have no problem scoring 30 points. He has taken over 20 shots a game over the last four and there should be no reason why this trend doesn’t continue. Wiggins is an elite play on tonight.

Paul George vs Houston Rockets

Earlier in the year George scored 33 points and had 9 rebounds against the Rockets. He facing a phenomenal matchup in a fast paced game with little defense being played. If this game stays close, George will be the reason. Start George with confidence.

Robert Covington vs Golden State Warriors

Covington has been the 76ers go to player on offense and if this game stays close for at least three quarters it will be because of Covington. He has scored 40 draft kings points in four of his last five games. He is a good all-around player and this fast pace game plays into his strengths.

Power Forward:

Paul Millsap vs Boston Celtics

My man crush is back again and this time he gets the weak Celtics front court defense. Last time these two squared off he led the Hawks in points and assist and he could have an even better game. Millsap goes under-owned on most nights and this a good opportunity to get him in a good matchup.

Thaddeus Young vs Houston Rockets

This fast paced game is a spot where Young’s talents will excel in. He is too cheap and has too big of an upside to ignore in this position. He now gets the weak defense of Ryan Anderson and like Paul George, he will have to have a good game for it to stay close. Hopefully Young will go low owned and with the money we save, we can add another elite player on this slate.

Derrick Williams vs Milwaukee Bucks

This is a good play ONLY if LeBron James is out. All of the attention will go on Kyrie Irving and that will free up Williams to have a good night. If Williams gets hot, he can give you great value and with his cheap price on draft kings, he doesn’t have to do a lot to reach value.

Center:

Center is loaded tonight and there are a lot of players and on Draft Kings, you are allowed to play two centers (one in the center slot and the other in the utility spot). I will play multiple centers. Karl-Anthony Towns, who is eligible at power forward, will be a building block in my lineups. Towns, Dwight Howard, Guillermo Hernangomez, Serge Ibaka and Myles Turner are all in elite plays.

If you can squeeze in Towns, Turner and Ibaka, you will give you self a shot at a great chance to win. Squeeze in some of the cheaper options that I mentioned and you should have no problem doing so.
