After falling down 1-0 to the Columbus Blue Jackets, the New York Rangers strike back quickly with a Jimmy Vesey to Rick Nash goal at MSG.

Coming off a 7-0 drubbing of the New York Islanders on Saturday, the Columbus Blue Jackets entered Madison Square Garden on Sunday with hopes and dreams of a two-day sweep of the borough hockey squads.

Early on, it looked good when Alexander Wennberg notched his 11th goal of the season on a primetime deflection just 1:02 into the game.

The New York Rangers responded in a big way.

Derek Stepan entered the zone leading a 4-on-3. He dropped a pass to young Jimmy Vesey who then executed a picture-perfect pass on the tape of Rick Nash, leading to his 18th goal of the season (video above).

The score remained knotted up until sniper Cam Atkinson buried his 28th goal of the campaign with a wicked wrist shot on the power play.

The score remains 2-1 with a little over nine minutes remaining in the first period.
