New York Mets prioritize Tim Tebow jersey over Curtis Granderson

Looking for a Curtis Granderson jersey at the New York Mets spring training complex? Too bad, you’re going to have to settle for a Tim Tebow.

Meet the Mets, greet the Mets, step right up and buy a Tim Tebow jersey because if you believe he was brought to the franchise to play “baseball” instead of selling t-shirts, then consult your local sports psychologist.

Tim Tebow hasn’t yet arrived at Port St. Lucie but you wouldn’t believe it by looking at some of the official merchandise the Mets are selling.

Ken Davidoff of the New York Post posted a photo that sums up just how the Mets feel about Tebow. Clearly, his jersey is in some sort of demand and is deemed more important than the loyal Curtis Granderson.

Tebow was not brought to the New York Mets to play baseball. Sandy Alderson has done a terrific job creating a minor league system that has grown and developed talent, so it’s hard to believe he was behind signing a 27 year old athlete who hasn’t played competitively since high school.

This seems like Alderson’s superiors were looking for a quick way to cash in on a well known individual’s popularity through their own merchandise.

Tebow-mania is upon us and once he arrives at camp, it’s only going to get worse.
