The Philadelphia 76ers unload Nerlens Noel to the Mavericks for Andrew Bogut and help on the wing in Justin Anderson.

As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski, The 76ers are trading Nerlens Noel to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Andrew Bogut and Justin Anderson. The deal also includes a conditional first round pick from the Mavs.

It remains to be seen if Philly will keep Bogut, with the more likely scenario being another trade or cutting his contract. Should they decide to keep him, his contract expires at the end of the season.

The 76ers were in need of wings and Justin Anderson fell out of the rotation with the Mavericks. The first round pick is protected one to 18 in the upcoming draft.

With Joel Embiid‘s impressive emergence, Dario Saric‘s potential and Ben Simmons‘ eminent debut, Noel became expendable. He will be a restricted free agent and could possibly strike gold with the Mavericks come summer time.

Will Nerlens Noel be able to stay healthy enough with the Mavericks to reach his potential and earn a big contract?
