At least one report from the inside has the New York Knicks fearing Kristaps Porzingis suffered ligament damage in his ankle.

Kristaps Porzingis is the only reason to watch the 2017 New York Knicks. Unfortunately, the 7-foot-3 Latvian could be missing some time.

Porzingis was seen hobbling back to the locker room at halftime during Thursday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers and was wearing a walking boot after the game.

It is unclear when Porzingis hurt himself, but the Knicks do fear he will miss some time.

Porzingis is currently averaging 18.3 points per game, 7.1 rebounds per game and 2.0 blocks per game.

The Knicks lost by 15 to the Cavs on Thursday night, falling to 23-35.

With Porzingis possibly out for an extended period of time, the Knicks could climb up the draft lottery rankings. But more importantly, the Knicks need to make sure to rest Porzingis to prevent further injury to their young star.
