Real fighters can’t always fight back tears. WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia let a few go during THE REVEAL with Mark Kriegel.

Danny Garcia (33-0, 19 KOs) is usually all business, especially in the squared-circle. You can be sure that’ll be the case when he meets Keith “One Time” Thurman (27-0, 22 KOs) March 4 at the Barclays Center, in a welterweight championship unification matchup between unbeatens.

Garcia did briefly let his guard down during an interview for Showtime’s THE REVEAL with Mark Kriegel. He delves into his hardscrabble upbringing in the “Badlands,” a rough area in Philadelphia, PA.

Among the topics, he discusses barely attending school as child, his relationship with his father, the outspoken Angel Garcia, and how Angel’s prison stint for drug trafficking gutted the family.

“Swift” can’t fight back tears as he recalls Angel missing three years of his childhood, and winding up homeless.

“My father, he was the one who made sure everything was okay,” Garcia tells Kriegel. “So, when he left, it was like everything fell apart.

“(through tears) It was the hardest part of my life. … But it made me the fighter I am.”

Garcia (+180) is the underdog against Thurman, just as he was against Amir Khan in 2012 and Lucas Matthysse the following year. He stopped Khan in four rounds and dropped Matthysse once en route to a unanimous decision victory.
