Former New York Yankees’ world champion and current guest instructor Nick Swisher reported to George M. Steinbrenner Field in cheery fashion.

Ah, that’s the type of personality that made fans fall in love with Nick Swisher.

Reporting to New York Yankees‘ spring training camp on Monday as a guest instructor, Swisher’s first appearance in camp involved smiles and high fives for all — in typical Swisher fashion.

It’s that kind of loose, yet focused attitude that made the 36-year old such an asset to a ballclub, and the Yankees’ organization hopes he can implant that energy into the youth of the team.

Swisher played in 598 games from 2009-12 with the Yankees. He won a World Series, appeared in the 2010 All-Star game, hit 105 home runs (20+ in each season) and drove in 349 runs.

He joins Alex RodriguezGoose Gossage, Reggie Jackson, Hideki Matsui, Ron Guidry, Willie Randolph, Stump Merrill and Lee Mazzilli as guest instructors at camp here in 2017. Talk about the ideal professionals you want the “Baby Bombers” to learn from.
