New York Yankees top prospect Gleyber Torres took batting practice Friday against Luis Severino, who made him look absolutely silly.

Many members of the New York Yankees have reported to spring training camp to get ready for the 2017 season, two names in particular who are already getting work in are Luis Severino and Gleyber Torres.

In a batting practice session against Severino, Torres looked absolutely clueless in how to handle the heat from the right-hander. The only two times the middle infielder swung the bat resulted in two big swings and misses.

According to MLB Pipeline, Torres is currently ranked as the third top prospect in all of baseball with an MLB ETA of 2018. The future is undoubtedly bright for the Venezuelan-born star.

While Torres still has time to go before reaching the Bronx, the time is now for Luis Severino. He will be competing this spring for a spot in the team’s starting rotation, a role where he struggled last season.

However, Severino shined following being placed in the bullpen and looked like an entirely different pitcher in the second half of the season.

Only time will tell how Severino is able to perform this spring and potentially earn himself his spot back in the Yankees’ starting rotation.
