New York Jets Cornerback Darrelle Revis under investigation following street fight

New York Jets Cornerback Darrelle Revis is under investigation after being involved in a street fight in Pittsburgh.

According to KDKA, Pittsburgh’s CBS affiliate, New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis was injured in an altercation with five people in Pittsburgh last weekend. 

Revis, who is a native of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania and played at the University of Pittsburgh, was in town visiting friends and family when he was assaulted.

“Mr. Revis came home to Pittsburgh this past weekend to visit family and friends. During that time, Mr. Revis went by a location in the South Side that he is in the process of developing,”. Revis’ attorney told CBS. “Mr. Revis was physically assaulted while at that location by a group of at least five people. Mr. Revis feared for his safety and retreated from the aggressors.”

Sources close to the incident say that it occurred around 2:30 a.m. Monday near the intersection of South 23rd and East Carson Street. Two individuals allegedly approached Revis, complimented his clothes and began following and recording him.

Revis asked the men to leave him alone before engaging in a shoving match.

One of the victims alleged that Revis snatched his phone and attempted to delete the video before tossing it into the street. At this point, one of Revis’ friends engaged the two individuals and punches were allegedly thrown. The injured men were taken to the hospital, with one having broken bones around his eye.

Revis’ lawyer said he would hold a news conference later today to further discuss the incident.
