If there’s one constant when it comes to New York Yankees’ spring training, it’s the legends that show up to lend a hand.

It’s not spring training unless some former New York Yankees‘ players show up.

As pitchers and catchers reported to George M. Steinbrenner Field on Tuesday, a list of guest instructors was revealed by the team.

Alex Rodriguez and Nick Swisher, both part of the 2009 World Series team and instructors with the Yankees’ instructional league team in the fall, will join the list of former champions and legends in Tampa.

A-Rod was released by the Yankees last Aug. 12 and will make $21 million in 2017 but instead of marching towards 700 homers, he will serve as an adviser and consultant.

Swisher, after being released by the Atlanta Braves after spring training a year ago, was signed by New York on April 14, 2016, but was released on July 3 after a brief sting in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (.255/.297/.377 in 55 games). He spent four years in New York (2009-12).

Goose Gossage, Reggie Jackson, Hideki Matsui, Ron Guidry, Willie Randolph, Stump Merrill and Lee Mazzilli will also join Yankees’ camp. Talk about the ideal professionals you want the “Baby Bombers” to learn from.
