Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday are just two of the NBA studs to play in daily fantasy basketball for February 13, 2017.

On February 13, 2017, there is an 11-game NBA slate loaded with good matchups that we can take advantage of.

Point guard, especially, is loaded with great matchups. Besides the obvious plays like John Wall and Stephen Curry, I’ll give you some other plays. Shooting guard is usually the weakest position of the night and tomorrow is no difference. Small forward has some all-star caliber players, but they are not in the best matchups. Power forward only has a handful of good plays and we may have to pay up at the position on this slate. Along with point guard, center is loaded with good plays in almost every matchup.

Tonight, I will be loading up on point guards and centers and trying to find values at the other positions. I also promise I won’t mention playing John Wall (thanks to the fact I’ve mentioned him in all previous daily editions). (But, hey, play him tonight anyway.)

Check the injury report 10 or 15 minutes before lineup lock. There can be some news that drastically changes the whole slate.

We begin, as usual, with the point guard slot:

Point Guard

Jrue Holiday vs the Phoenix Suns:

Holiday’s price has skyrocketed up for this matchup and it’s for a good reason. The Suns are horrible on defense vs. point guards and they play at a fast pace. Holiday will excel in this matchup and if you do play him, pair him up with Anthony Davis, who is also in an elite match-up. Most of Holiday’s assist will go towards Davis and both can put up a season high in points.

Damian Lillard vs Atlanta Hawks:

Whenever the Atlanta Hawks play, you attack them at the point guard position. Lillard has been on a role lately and he will be one of the top scoring guards on the slate. He will be a good pivot off of the other top priced guards and you can get him at a good ownership in an elite match-up. He is more than just a scorer and he should get you a handful of steals.

Mike Conley vs Brooklyn Nets:

The Nets are bad — bad on offense and even worse on defense. Whoever the Nets decide to start at point guard will not be able to stop Mike Conley. Conley should go low owned because of the blow-out factor and with being the 10th highest priced point guard, he will get great numbers. I will be pairing him with Lillard in most of my lineups tonight.

Shooting Guard

Klay Thompson vs Denver Nuggets:

You attack the Denver guards and Klay and Steph are in the best matchup possible for their skill sets. Denver plays at a sloppy, fast pace and this will feed in the hands of the splash brothers. Klay and Steph will get a couple of steals each and should be able to grab some long rebounds on bad Denver shots. There is a chance that the Nuggets sit one of their big three offensive stars (KD, Curry or Klay) and if that’s the case, load up on the other two scorers.

Will Barton vs Golden State Warriors:

With the injuries the Nuggets have had recently, Barton has been enjoying the extra playing time. Barton does more than just score as he fills up the stat sheet. If this game stays close, it will be because of Barton hitting his shots. Most daily players don’t play the opponents of the Warriors and on this night that will be a mistake. Play Barton with confidence.

Malcolm Brogdon vs Detroit Pistons:

Ever since Jabari Parker went down with injury, Brogdon has taken on a bigger role in the offense. He is seeing more minutes and is taking more shots. Detroit is coming off of playing the night before and they will have tired legs which leads to sloppy play. Brogdon doesn’t have the best matchup on paper but at his low salary and his recent play, he will be a good play tonight.

Small Forward

Gordon Hayward vs Los Angeles Clippers:

Hayward has been playing big minutes and he’s been putting up big numbers. This game should stay close which means he should play in the mid-30s in minutes. In the last five out of six games, he has played at least 30 minutes, he has scored at least 27 points. For this specific slate of games, Hayward might be the best play at small forward. This may drive up his owner percentage but sometimes you need to play the chalky players and take the points.

Robert Covington vs Charlotte Hornets:

Covington has picked up the scoring load for the 76ers ever since Joel Embiid went out with injury. Sir Covington fills up the stat sheet and if his shot is falling he can put up 40-50 fantasy points. The 76ers need Covington to carry the offensive load again and he is more than happy to do so. Small forward is very thin tonight and Covington will be in all of my lineups.

 NEXT: Daily power forward plays

Power Forward

Anthony Davis vs Phoenix Suns:

The aforementioned Anthony Davis is facing a dream matchup. The Suns struggle guarding elite big men and with the fast pace of the game, Davis will be a top three scorer on this slate. He is expensive, but by using Davis and another star player such as John Wall or Steph Curry, you can do a stars and scrubs lineup which is a great way to fit two or three studs in your lineup. Davis has the potential to put up 70+ fantasy points on this night.

Paul Millsap vs Portland Trail Blazers:

I simply can’t help myself. I have a huge man-crush on Paul Millsap. He plays for my favorite team and he has one of the best match-ups on paper going against Portland. This game will be high scoring and there is nobody on Portland who will be able to stop him. With the game being high scoring and close, Millsap will play a ton of minutes and has a chance to be the highest scoring forward on the slate.

Frank Kaminsky vs Philadelphia 76ers:

Frank the Tank has been on a roll ever since Cody Zeller has gone out with an injury. Zeller has already been ruled out for tonight’s game so the tank is in play tonight. The 76ers are horrible on defense without Joel Embiid and with Kaminsky’s expected minutes, he will take advantage of the weak 76ers defense.

 NEXT: Daily center plays

Center

Nikola Jokic vs Golden State Warriors:

I don’t like playing big centers against the Warriors because they play small ball more than any other team in the league but Jokic is an elite talent who can stay in the game and guard Draymond Green when the Warriors can go small. He has a big size advantage over Green and can bully the Warriors other centers on the roster. Jokic has been an elite center this year and with his high price and poor matchup on paper, you can get Jokic at low ownership which would be rare on how well he has been playing.

Marc Gasol vs Brooklyn Nets:

Stop me if you have heard this before, the Nets are really bad on defense. Nobody on the Nets will be able to stop Mike Conley and Marc Gasol running the pick and roll. Gasol will take advantage of the soft Brook Lopez defense and he has a shot of recording a triple double tonight. Gasol’s salary is surprisingly low and by pairing him up with Conley, that can lead to a lot of points and fantasy goodness.
