On Saturday, March 4, WBA welterweight champion Keith “One Time” Thurman (27-0, 22 KOs, 1 NC) will face WBC welterweight champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (33-0, 19 KOs) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn NY.

This is a rare matchup in which we have two undefeated champions during the prime of their careers facing one another. The winner of this fight will not only be a unified champion, but will also be the lineal welterweight champion something that has not happened since Floyd Mayweather Jr. retired in 2015.

The last time we saw Thurman was at the Barclays Center in June where he defeated Shawn Porter by unanimous decision in one of the best fights of 2016.

In Garcia’s last fight, he won by 7th-round TKO in November over the overmatched Samuel Vargas. After the fight, Thurman stepped in the ring and he and Garcia got into a heated exchange. The war of words didn’t end there as at the press conference in January. Thurman and Garcia’s father Angel got into a heated verbal exchange. It’s safe to say that this fight is personal.

This fight could come down to who can take the others money punch better. Thurman has tremendous power in his right hand, and Garcia’s left hook has knocked out Amir Khan and future hall of famer Erik Morales.

This is fight has the potential to be the fight of the year and is a much see for all boxing fans. Tickets are now on sale for as low as $70.
