The Jets Zone Podcast: Bypassing Dan Quinn for Todd Bowles wasn't a mistake (Audio)

Now that Dan Quinn has led the Atlanta Falcons to Super Bowl 51, fans of the New York Jets wonder if Todd Bowles was the wrong man.

It’s all set. Super Bowl LI now has its participants. It’ll be the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots.

This means second-year head coach Dan Quinn has reached the mountaintop very early in his NFL head coaching career. This also means fans of the New York Jets have more to complain about.

Not only do they have to witness Tom Brady and Bill Belichick try for a fifth ring, they have to deal with Quinn’s success. Two summers ago it was Quinn who many thought would be moving to Florham Park, New Jersey to take over sideline duties for the recently fired Rex Ryan.

It turned out, instead, that Todd Bowles was hired in a hurry because they were afraid another team would swoop in and steal him.

These are the rumors that have swirled around the hire and now that Bowles is coming off a 5-11 campaign in which he looked completely lost, all Jets fans are aching that Quinn was so close to being their man.
