The New York Knicks couldn’t close out what looked like a sure win on Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers.

With six seconds remaining in Wednesday’s game, New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis air balled and instead of calling a timeout the Sixers pushed the ball up the court and T.J. McConnell broke the spirits of the Knicks one more time.

The Knicks were up 10 points with less than 2:30 remaining in the fourth quarter and it looked like the Knicks had finally put a good defensive game together. That’s when everything fell apart.
In the final two minutes and twenty seconds the Sixers were 5-5 from the field and 3-3 from the free-throw line.
Joel Embiid scored eight points and Carmelo Anthony missed both of his attempts in the final 2:20.
Derrick Rose (25 points, 4 assists, 11-16 FG) shot the ball well in his return, but it wasn’t enough. Rose finished with a -21.
The Knicks dropped to 1-9 in their last ten games. The nightmare continues.

Despite holding the Sixers to under 40 percent shooting from the field and 25 percent shooting from beyond the arc, the Knicks let the home team attempt 21 free throws. They converted on 17 of those shots, and the Knicks only attempted 10 shots from the charity stripe. That was the difference in the game.
Key Player
Kyle O’Quinn was 5-6 from the field with 10 points and 15 rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench. All of that came in the first half, however, as O’Quinn didn’t score a point or even attempt a field goal in the second half.
New York will try and snap a three-game losing streak at home vs. Chicago against the Bulls on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
