The New York Mets are still interested in a move that would bring Chicago White Sox closer David Robertson back to the Big Apple.

According to Kristie Ackert of the NY Daily News, the New York Mets still have their sights set on acquiring a relief pitcher, and Chicago White Sox closer David Robertson seems to be their prime target.

Judging by the packages it required in order for teams to obtain top relief pitchers like Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman, the Mets will likely have to send a large package to Chicago in order to get him, which would likely include either Amed Rosario or Michael Conforto.

One thing the Mets would not have to worry about with Robertson is how he handles the immense pressure of pitching in New York, since he’s done it with the crosstown Yankees already.

In seven seasons pitching in the Bronx, Robertson sported a 2.81 ERA in 402 games with a 12 K/9.

No deal seems imminent as of now, but it is worth noting that the Mets are certainly in the market for a relief pitcher and David Robertson is more than on their radar.
