The final count for the 2016 Heisman Trophy is in and the winner comes in the form of Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson.
On one of the biggest nights in college football where only one of five men will set their place into the College record books forever. The finalists were Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield, Dede Westbrook, Jabrill Peppers, and finally Deshaun Watson. While all five men are more than deserving only one was able to win. The committee decided to choose Louisville Quarterback Lamar Jackson.Jackson came out guns and blazing in 2016 putting up seven touchdown games left and right. People were comparing the young star to the likes of Michael Vick.

The Louisville Quarterback was seemingly unstoppable through the air, passing for 3390 yards, 30 touchdowns, and only nine interceptions. To compliment these insane stats Jackson completed 57.6 percent of his passes attempted. Not only was he a great passing QB he got it done with his legs also.
Jackson would rush for 1538 yards averaging six yards per rush and putting up 21 touchdowns on the ground as well.
While number eight fell off a little bit towards the ending of the season along with his team it was almost impossible for any of the other contenders to put up the outstanding numbers the sophomore put up.
Lamar Jackson will certainly be a force next year in college and the following years in the NFL, but tonight the 19-year-old will rejoice in a moment he will never forget and rightfully deserved.
