The New York Knicks got by the short-handed Miami Heat in a tough road win led by superstar Carmelo Anthony.

It was a rough first half in Miami for the New York Knicks. The Heat, with only nine healthy players, led by one after the first 24 minutes. Carmelo Anthony finished with an ugly 17 points on 5-12 shooting. By the end of the game, however, he was once again the hero.

Melo was 2-8 in the first quarter and it looked like it could be one of those nights for the superstar scorer. Then he checked in with 5:58 left in the second quarter and promptly made 3 of his 4 FGA, 1 being a deep three.

He had momentum into the second half and so did the Knicks. Against a short-handed team that struggles at home, that was all it took.

Melo guided his team to their fourth straight win making 8 of 15 second half shots for 18 points. Anthony tied a season-high with 35 points total. He finished with an incredible +25 in 36 minutes.

Numbers to remember: Joakim Noah had his first double-double as a Knick (10 points, 10 rebounds), Lance Thomas silenced the harsh critics (5-6, 1-1 from three, 11 points), and Kyle O’Quinn was huge on the glass again with 5 offensive rebounds.
