New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose cautioned his teammates not to become content with their current state. He thinks they can be better.
New York Knicks (11-9) point guard Derrick Rose is used to winning. During his one year at the University of Memphis, Rose led his team to the NCAA National Championship Game and the NCAA record for most wins in a season (38). That success carried over into the NBA where he made the playoffs in six of his seven seasons with the Chicago Bulls.
The former MVP’s accomplishments make him an influential voice in the locker room as the team proceeds further through the grueling regular season.
After Sunday night’s win against the Sacramento Kings, Rose told ESPN New York’s Ian Begley that his team, “Can’t be content with where we’re at,” and that they’re “far away” from where they can be.

It’s easy for fans to be excited about the progress that the franchise has made. The Knicks are two games above .500 thru 20 games for just the third time since 2001. But Rose isn’t as pumped as you. He thinks they can be better.
An 11-9 record makes the Knicks the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference. If the playoffs started tomorrow, they’d be assured a first round exit.
The Knicks have been special at home this season, winning 9 of 12 games. If they can translate some of that magic to the road they’ll be a top four seed.
The Knicks visit the Miami Heat on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. ET. A win would make them three games over .500 for the first time in almost four years.
