New York Knicks forward Lance Thomas will miss his eighth straight game tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder. According to Ian Begley of ESPN New York, Thomas will be held out of the game due to ankle issues.

The 28-year-old Thomas made a strong impact on the team last season with his improved three-point shot, earning him a $27 million contract. But with the impressive play of New York’s young wings Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Justin Holiday, Thomas’ spot in the rotation when he does in fact return is unclear.

Thomas was struggling in the eight games he’s played this season. The reformed sharpshooter only managed 8 three-point attempts in 140 minutes and totaled just 31 points.

After missing so much time Thomas will have to ease back into his role as one of the team’s key reserves if he does at all.
