New York Knicks‘ Kristaps Porzingis was embarrassed by Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert on Sunday. Porzingis wants to get Gobert back.

Kristaps Porzingis had his second straight excellent offensive performance on Sunday against a good defense, the Utah Jazz. Unfortunately for Porzingis, no one is going to remember his 28 points after what Rudy Gobert did to him late in the fourth quarter.

With less than three minutes remaining in a final period dominated by Utah, “The Stifle Tower” caught a perfect bounce pass in the paint from George Hill and ascended over everyone’s favorite Knick for the one-handed dunk.

The 7-foot-1 Gobert’s freakish wingspan of 7 feet 8 1/2 inches allowed him to make the 7-foot-3 Porzingis look like a guard.

As if it couldn’t get any worse for KP, two possessions later Gobert blocked his shot.

So Porzingis got served by arguably the best defensive big man in the NBA who just happened to be celebrating a brand new $100 million contract. No shame in that.

It’s good to hear that Porzingis wants to get Gobert back. He’s showing some competitive fire, and that’s what you want in your star players.

Maybe Joakim Noah is rubbing off on the kid already.
