What Is New York Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony Saying In Cryptic IG Post?

After struggling over the first four games, New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony posted a cryptic message with an Instagram photo.

After beginning the season 1-3 and partaking in one of the worst defensive team efforts in quite some time, New York Knicks captain Carmelo Anthony took to Instagram.

Posting a photo of his pregame routine of hugging the basketball, Melo used these words as caption:

It’s necessary to know that everybody won’t see it that everybody won’t join you. That everybody won’t have the vision. It’s necessary to know that a lot of people want to complain. But they don’t want to do anything about there situation. That you’re an uncommon breed you know.. You have to know within yourself that I can do this even if no one else sees it for me I can see it for myself, that’s necessary.
#StayMe7o

He then warned the New York media not to read too much into the cryptic message, via Frank Isola of the New York Daily News:

“Oh, please don’t overthink it,” Anthony said following the Knicks morning practice at United Center. “It’s too early for that. Just you know, I love the game. Please don’t dissect that and overthink that. Please don’t. It’s too early for that.”

Part of Melo’s words come from a new Jeezy song. The part about knowing many people want to complain, but they refuse to do anything about their situation rings true. It presents itself as true thanks to the Knickerbockers early season struggles.

But what was Melo trying to accomplish here? He posts a cryptic message yet doesn’t want the media to ask questions about it. He’s willing to get a message out to the media in a half-hearted form, but won’t go that extra full mile in effort of full transparency.

To me, that’s anything but Staying Melo.

For now, we wave it away as early season frustration. Sure, these Knicks looks horrid, especially defensively. But nobody can and should evaluate who this team is until at least 15 games are played.

Allow Melo to post anything he’d like. If it translates into wins, give him ideas of what to post on Instagram.

It doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.
