After suffering an apparent hamstring injury, Brooklyn Nets guard Jeremy Lin won’t return to Wednesday’s game.

The Nets entered halftime with a 71-55 lead over the Detroit Pistons and the team’s official Twitter accounted stated that Lin will miss the remainder of the game with a strained left hamstring.

In the first half, Lin had racked up ten points on 4/6 shooting and four assists, but it was Brook Lopez who provided Brooklyn with a huge uplift. Behind a strong 24-point half, that included four made threes, the Nets didn’t need to rely on Lin as heavily as usual.

Unfortunately, it’s still a big blow to them offensively and defensively. He was a handful for Ish Smith to defend and his energy is always needed on the defensive end of the floor.

There is no word on the severity of the injury, and only time will tell if the Brooklyn Nets are without their newest star for an extended period of time.

I'm obsessed with basketball. I play (my hesi pull-up Jimbo is cash), I write and cover the Nets here at ESNY. My work has been seen on Bleacher Report, Sports Illustrated and FanSided. I also run my company, TBN Media. My favorite NBA player is Isaiah Thomas because I can look him in the eye.
