The civil trial of New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose was marred by today’s shocking developments.

According to the Los Angeles Times, an LAPD detective investigating the rape allegations against New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose was found fatally shot on Tuesday afternoon and taken to PIH Health Hospital, where she was declared dead at 3:27 p.m.

Nadine Hernandez, 44, was found suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest in a home belonging to a retired LAPD lieutenant. According to Deadspin, Hernandez was involved in stressing the importance of anonymity for the plaintiff.

The far less disturbing announcement coming today was the judge’s decision not to declare a mistrial in the case.

Per the LA Times, the judge said the failure of Doe’s lawyers not to provide the defense with the three text messages the women involved in the alleged assault sent to Rose earlier, “was not serious enough to call an end to the civil court trial.”

Rose’s lawyer, Mark Baute, said the messages were “secretively omitted” and to believe it was an innocent mistake is, “naivete at an extreme level.”

The woman’s lawyers denied the charge and told the judge that it was a random mistake.
