New York Yankees And Blue Jays Engage In Feisty Brawl (Video)

The New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays have engaged in two brush-ups in the first two innings of Monday night’s contest at the Rogers Centre.

Well, the start of Monday’s contest between the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays certainly wasn’t peaceful.

In the first inning, Josh Donaldson was breezed on the elbow pad by New York’s starter, Luis Severino which generated a response from J.A. Happ who plunked third baseman, Chase Headley.

Home plate umpire Todd Tichenor warned both benches, which didn’t seem too effective as Severino clearly threw at Justin Smoak.

The 22-year old was tossed followed by a ton of pushing and shoving from both teams in front of a buzzing Rogers Centre crowd.

Through two innings, manager Joe Girardi, bench coach Rob Thompson, Severino, and pitching coach Larry Rothschild have all been ejected. No member of the Blue Jays was tossed.

While no punches seemed to have been thrown, Tyler Austin may have been struck by a punch to the cheekbone, per Wallace Mathew.
