In lieu of adding a third point guard to bolster the team’s back court, the New York Knicks filled its 15th and final roster spot by re-signing forward Lou Amundson, the team announced on Monday.

Multiple reports confirm the contract is a one-year, fully guaranteed deal.

Amundson played in 29 games last season, averaging 4.3 points and 4.2 rebounds in 15.2 minutes per game. The 6-foot-9 journeyman has played for 10 teams in his 10-year NBA career, and boasts career averages of 3.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

Amundson is the latest addition of a New York roster overhaul that included a trade for ex-league MVP Derrick Rose and free agent deals for Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee and Brandon Jennings.

The Knicks also re-signed Lance Thomas and Sasha Vujacic, and added youth and depth to its front court by signing undrafted center Marshall Plumlee, 2015 second-round pick Willy Hernangomez and 2015 Summer League standout Maurice Ndour, each front court players.

New York’s health concern at the point guard position is well documented.

Jennings has appeared in just 75 games over the past two seasons after recovering from an Achilles injury. Rose has endured three consecutive leg injuries, including a twice-torn meniscus in his right knee.

Rose is also battling a sexual assault charge that could go to trial Oct. 4 and keep him out of pre-season and potentially early regular season games.

With a full roster, New York will enter the season without an insurance policy should either of its point guards sustain an injury. The team signed point guard Chasson Randle to a partially guaranteed deal, but with a full roster, the Knicks would need to cut a player to bring another point guard into the regular season.

New York has 18 players on contract. It can bring a maximum of 20 into training camp.
