There are four specific games in which the New Jersey Devils should wear the Heritage Jerseys for this coming season.

By now, NHL fans alike are well aware that the New Jersey Devils will don three different jerseys next season. However, the team announced that the third jersey, the “Heritage Jersey” that was unveiled on Tuesday, will only be worn on four occasions in 2018-19 at the Prudential Center.

While the four games have yet to be determined, ESNY predicts which four contests the Devils will go retro red and green for next season.

Get ready to mark your calendars, Jersey.

New York Islanders vs. New Jersey Devils

  • Friday, Nov. 23, 2018. 4:00 p.m. ET

The day after Thanksgiving always makes for a great day to go to a hockey game and for the New Jersey Devils to drop the puck on some holiday spirit.

The first time the Devils reintroduce the white, red and green home-vintage jerseys should be against, none other than general manager Lou Lamoriello. The New York Islanders and Lamoriello will visit the Rock for a 4:00 p.m. ET start on that Friday, and wearing the jerseys against Lamoriello would be fitting for a number of reasons.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. New Jersey Devils

  • Sun. Dec. 23, 2018. 1:00 p.m. ET

One month after the Devils first wear the Heritage Jersey, New Jersey will be sure to wear the sweaters a second time and one day before Christmas Eve.

No, it’s not against a rival opponent such as the Islanders or New York Rangers, but it would be hard to believe that New Jersey wouldn’t wear the white, red and green jerseys for a home game that lands on a day just prior to Christmas.

Plus, the Rock won’t have to worry about the opposition’s fanbase potentially ruining the theme, considering that Columbus fans don’t travel as well other teams such as Pittsburgh, New York, Philadelphia or Toronto.

Philadelphia Flyers vs. New Jersey Devils

  • Sat. Jan. 12, 2019. 1:00 p.m. ET

While the game mentioned above may seem that the New Jersey should consider avoiding the Heritage Jerseys against divisional foes such as the Flyers, it’s also an opportunity to pack the house and keep the City of Brotherly Love out of the Rock.

New Jersey not wearing the Heritage Jerseys against a classic divisional rival such as the Philadelphia Flyers doesn’t seem right, after all. One of the Devils’ first-ever wins while wearing the white, red and green jersey happened to be against the Philadelphia Flyers back on Nov. 18, 1982.

New Jersey defeated the Flyers by a score of 3-1 at the then, Brendan Byrne Arena. The game is also enticing because, yes, it is a day game and on a Saturday.

New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils

  • Thurs. Jan. 31, 2019. 7:00 p.m. ET

Considering that the New York Rangers only visit the Rock twice next season, expect New Jersey to wear the Garden State green jerseys during the rivals’ first meeting on Thursday, Jan. 31.

Similar to the game mentioned above — It’s also fitting because the Devils’ first-ever win while wearing the white, red and green jerseys came on home ice against the Rangers back on Oct. 8, 1982. New Jersey defeated the Broadway Blueshirts by a score of 3-2.

Other Potential Dates To Keep In Mind

  • Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019. Pittsburgh Penguins
  • Thursday, March 21, 2019. Boston Bruins
