New York Knicks Dennis Smith Jr. is will miss practice on Saturday after suffering a muscle-related lower back injury.

The point guard competition is one of the most interesting battles in training camp for the New York Knicks. Of the three guards fighting for minutes this season, Dennis Smith Jr. appears to have the inside track for the starting role.

However, the third-year player from North Carolina State suffered a training camp setback on Saturday. According to the team, Smith suffered a lower back strain that will force him to miss practice on Saturday. According to Chris Iseman of NJ.com, the injury is muscle-related.

Amir Hinton (personal reasons) and Kadeem Allen (strained right foot) will also miss Saturday’s open practice.
