Dwyane Wade’s final game was marked by guest appearances from LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul.

The Banana Boat crew came together one last time before Dwyane Wade hung it up. LeBron James, Chris Paul, and former New York Knicks great Carmelo Anthony traveled to Brooklyn to take in Wade’s final game.

The playoff-bound Brooklyn Nets weren’t slowed down by any nostalgia. The home side jumped out to an early lead and cruised to a convincing victory.

Although the game itself was a blowout, it gave fans one last opportunity to see Wade. Despite falling to the Nets, Wade posted the fifth triple-double of his career. He finished the night with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Perhaps Miami was forcing it to Wade too much, but they were eliminated from playoff contention so this one was more about giving Wade a proper sendoff.

Wade’s retirement officially kills any chances of the Banana Boat crew uniting. Furthermore, Anthony’s NBA future remains uncertain while James and Paul are locked in with the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets respectively.

We will always be left to wonder what could have been if this foursome ever linked up to form a super team. In their primes, they would have been virtually unbeatable in a way similar to what we see with the Golden State Warriors now.

Wade and James went to four straight NBA Finals with the Miami Heat. Now add Anthony and Paul to those teams. Obviously, the rest of the Miami roster would be drastically different, but you get the point.
