With the New York Yankees coming off a frustrating loss against Toronto, here’s the news and notes you need to know.

In Wednesday, August 9, 2017’s edition of New York Yankees Bronx Bomber Buzz, we take a look at a potential injury for CC Sabathia as well as an update on Jordan Montgomery in Triple-A.

First off, Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia seemed to have tweaked his right knee in the third inning of Tuesday’s matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays.

In response to the tweak, Sabathia is heading back to New York to be evaluated by team doctors and see the severity of the potential injury.

It may be the best thing for CC to get some time off, considering that before tonight, he was sporting a 4.88 ERA in his previous five starts.

Next up, after being sent to Triple-A many were wondering what role Jordan Montgomery would be taking down there, well now we have answers.

According to Jon Morosi, Montgomery will continue to be a starter, but he will have seven does of rest in between starts as well as having reduced innings in his next start.

However, with CC Sabathia potentially down, the Yankees will be missing Montgomery’s arm in the major league rotation now more than ever.
