As the long summer heads towards pre season, the possibility of the New York Rangers trading Nick Holden continues.

With the New York Rangers still in search of a center and the team has what could be called an extra starting defenseman, talks of a trade continue to be mentioned. Now that the talk of the Rangers and Toronto have quieted down, Brian Anderson of the Hockey Writers believes the Rangers should make a trade with the Boston Bruins for Ryan Spooner.

The 25-year-old center just signed a one year deal with the Bruins, but Anderson believes Spooner would fit in better with the Rangers. Training camp begins in about six weeks, so fans will have to wait and see if the Rangers pull the trigger on a deal.

Prospect Lias Andersson, playing in the World Junior Summer Showcase, discussed how he thought the tournament was going so far for him.

Andersson said, “I think I had a pretty good game, the first two games of the season are always tough. You have to get the legs going again and getting used to the game again. It’s tough. The first two games were OK,” he added. “I think yesterday was a step up for me and the team and I think we played pretty well.”
