New York Knicks‘ Kristaps Porzingis has spoken about working out with his basketball idol Dirk Nowitzki. It looks like he’s finally doing it.

Kristaps Porzingis has spent the entirety of his career with the New York Knicks working from the perimeter on offense. Particularly last season when he chucked 314 three-point attempts (.357). According to Basketball-Reference.com, 31.9 percent of his FGAs in 2016-17 were threes.

One of the main criticisms of the unicorn is his lack of a post game. Porzingis intends to fix that this summer with the help of one of his basketball idols: Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki.

The 22-year-old’s Instagram page on Thursday indicates that he’s already started working out with Nowitzki.

Marc Berman of The New York Post points out that both players are in Africa for the NBA’s promotional tour. They took the time out to get together and have that long-anticipated workout.

This one is a big deal for Knicks fans, especially after Porzingis claimed Wednesday that he wanted to be in New York for his entire career.

On the latest edition of the Knicks State of Mind Podcast, Matt and Chip talk the addition Ramon Sessions and if he makes an impact.

They also dive into whether or not Derrick Rose actually would’ve been a mentor to Frank Ntilikina, or if he had sour grapes because the Knicks didn’t want him back.

And the show wouldn’t be complete without a little Kyrie Irving talk. How much should the Knicks be willing to give up for the All-Star point guard? Should they even want him at all?
