After taking two-of-three from the Rays, the New York Yankees continue their homestand as they welcome the Detroit Tigers into Yankee Stadium.

The trade deadline buzz is behind us, and the New York Yankees are ready to take on the Detroit Tigers in the first of three from the Bronx.

Luis Severino is on the hill for his 21st start of the 2017 season coming off a winning decision on Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners. He registered nine strikeouts over seven innings of work while yielding just three hits.

The 23-year-old All-Star is also rocking an 18.0-inning active streak without allowing an earned run, the longest such stretch of his career.

For Detroit, last year’s American League Rookie of the Year Award winner, Michael Fulmer, will get the starting nod. He has taken a loss in each of his last two starts — combined 11 runs (eight earned) over 10.2 innings — after winning his previous four.

Fulmer has one start against the Yankees in his brief Major League career and allowed just two hits on June 12, 2016.

Lineups:

Bullpen Is Back:

Thanks to the addition of Tommy Kahnle and David Robertson, the Yankees bullpen owns a Major League-best 1.76 ERA over the last 19 games after posting a 6.05 ERA in the previous 17 games. That includes 99 strikeouts in 71.2 innings of work.

This Day In Yankees History:

On July 31, 2007, the Yankees matched a franchise-record with eight home runs in a 16-3 win vs. the White Sox. Seven different Yankees homered in the game, including Hideki Matsui, who hit two.
