New York Rangers' Nick Holden has quietly become irreplaceable along blueline

With the New York Rangers desperately in need of another center, could defenseman Nick Holden be in danger of movement?

With the New York Rangers now done with all contract issues, they can now start to look at possible trade options to get a center. Jim Parsons of The Hockey Writers believes the Rangers will trade defenseman Nick Holden to get this done.

This has been the rumor going around the NHL recently. The new twist here is that the trade he is writing about is not with Toronto, but with the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers will be without defenseman Andrej Sekera for the start of the season.

Larry Brooks of the New York Post believes the Rangers need to buy out Marc Staal if they have any intentions of going after Toronto Maple Leaf Center Tyler Bozak.

The unusual part of the story is that Brooks doesn’t believe either would happen. The Rangers have until later on today to decide if they would want to buyout Staal, which would be their second buy out of this offseason. (Dan Girardi is the other.)

Rangers Defenseman Brady Skjei was interviewed yesterday. The interviewees were members of the Jr. Rangers Camp. Take a look at the Q&A on Rangers TV:
