Thursday, Google searches revealed that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was the owner of the New York Jets.
That’s not the case, of course. Woody Johnson is the actual owner of Gang Green. He’s owned the team for 17 years and was recently nominated by President Donald Trump to be the U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
But facts didn’t matter to Google on Thursday. Google searches for “New York Jets owner” and “owner of the Jets” returned results listing Tom Brady as the owner of the Jets.
Why was the Patriots quarterback listed as the owner of one of his fiercest rivals? ESPN reported that it was a glitch, though one can’t help but wonder if some nefarious Patriots fan working for the internet giant made the switch.

Despite the search engine’s glitch, Brady might as well be the owner of the Jets. He’s literally owned them on the field, going 24-8 against them while throwing for 7,625 yards and 48 touchdowns.
