Congratulations to the newest New York Rangers skater is in order, comments on the Lindy Ruff hiring and NHL.com Dan Rosen’s take on the club’s young defensemen all in today’s Blueshirt Beat.

Big congratulations to newest Ranger Kevin Shattenkirk on the announcement of his engagement. What a whirlwind of a summer and we all hope this won’t be the last ring he puts on this year.

Rosen’s Comments on Some Future Rangers

Comments of the Ruff Hiring

Although there appears to be some hype around the thought of the Rangers bringing in Lindy Ruff to give Alain Vigneault some sort of short leash and ultimately replace him, it seems unnecessary to begin talks like this when a head coach is quite simply attempting to work with the best in the game.

The two met for extended lengths to bounce things off each other and its quite clear they feel things are going to work. AV took the high road in the interview as many begin to question his job security.
