The final game of a four-game set between the New York Yankees and Royals has been postponed due to rain. A makeup date has been announced.

The New York Yankees were looking for a four-game series win over the Kansas City Royals, but will settle for two-out-of-three as the team announced Thursday’s 1:00 p.m. contest has been postponed due to rain.

Major League Baseball has rescheduled the contest for Monday, Sept. 25, which was formerly an off day for both teams. No scheduled time for first pitch has been announced.

If you had a ticket for Thursday’s postponed game, they can be used for the rescheduled date or be exchanged for any regular season game within a year. Fans can exchange tickets at the Yankee Stadium Advance Ticket Windows only. More information can be found on Yankees.com.

With that, the Yankees will welcome in the Oakland Athletics for a weekend series in the Bronx starting at 7:05 p.m. at Yankee Stadium.

Masahiro Tanaka will make his 10th start of the year coming off a disaster against the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday in which he allowed six earned runs over three innings of work. Over his last two starts, the Yankees’ ace has surrendered 24 earned runs over 12.1 innings (17.51 ERA).
