Lonzo Ball Debuts His Signature Shoe, the $495 ZO2: Twitter Brutally Pounces

Big Baller Brand unveils Lonzo Ball‘s signature shoe line the ZO2. Immediately afterward, the best of Twitter goes wild.

LaVar Ball’s Big Baller Brand unveiled the ZO2 shoe line that was designed for LaVar’s son Lonzo on Thursday.

Ball’s ZO2 signature sneaker will have python microfiber texture, patent leather heel logos, and a gel outsole with a hand-painted DeLorean finish. There is also a limited ZO2 WET Autograph edition of the shoe. The wet edition come in a key-locked glass box with a floor mirror, LED lights, and an autograph from Ball. The ZO2 Prime costs $495 while the wet edition costs $995, according to Franklyn Calle of Slam Magazine.

Ball’s shoes were made independently, and not by a shoe company. Last week Nike, Under Armour, and Adidas told LaVar that they weren’t interested in having a deal with Lonzo, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.

“We’ve said from the beginning, we aren’t looking for an endorsement deal,” LaVar told ESPN. “We’re looking for co-branding, a true partner. But they’re not ready for that because they’re not used to that model. But hey, the taxi industry wasn’t ready for Uber, either.”

Lonzo played one year for UCLA before declaring for the NBA draft. He is projected to be one of the top three picks in this year’s draft, which takes place June 22.

Ball’s ZO2 shoe are available for pre-order at bigballerbrand.com.
