After posting a disturbing string of tweets earlier this week, it appears New York Giants defensive end Owa Odighizuwa will not be retiring.

New York Giants defensive end Owa Odighizuwa posted a puzzling string of tweets which seemingly signaled his retirement from the NFL.

However, the former UCLA Bruin has since come forth to reaffirm his commitment to the Giants. Odighizuwa took to Twitter once again, this time to tell fans he was alright and happy to be with New York.

Though it should come as a relief to the organization that their third round pick from only three years ago will continue playing football, plenty of concerns come with this whole fiasco as well.

First of all, clearly this was Odighizuwa himself and not the work of some troublesome internet hacker. Odighizuwa would have said so in his most recent tweet had this been the case. Additionally he likely would have deleted the tweets by now if they had come from hackers, something Odighizuwa has not done.

His flip-flop almost raises more questions than had he actually just retired from the sport. Now the Giants’ front office must wonder if the pressures of being an NFL player are becoming too much for Odighizuwa. The team will likely want to reach out to their player for answers as soon as possible.

The only that does appear clear in any of this is that Odighizuwa is going through something personal. Of what variety remains to be seen. Hopefully, he gets the help he needs for whatever is happening to him.
