Things aren’t looking so good for New York Giants’ defensive end Owa Odighizuwa.

A puzzling trio of Tweets were sent out from the account of New York Giants’ defensive end Owa Odighizuwa earlier today. The former third-round pick by Big Blue appears to be stepping away from the game of football.

Everyone’s first instinct when an athlete or celebrity sends out a head-scratching message like this is that the individual must have been hacked. As of now, Odighizuwa has to claim his account was hacked, nor has he come out on another platform to confirm his football hiatus.

If this is truly Odighizuwa behind the Tweets, it is still entirely unclear what his motives are for leaving the game. Perhaps he has reconsidered a career in football due to the many concerns about the massive concussion issue in the game today. The NFL’s ongoing concussion problem is one that has caused many players before Odighizuwa to step away from football.

In two seasons with the Giants, the UCLA product has been largely a disappointment. Though he was to contribute as a rotational defensive end, Odighizuwa had failed to earn himself very much playing time. He has recorded a mere six tackles in 14 career games played.
