Thanks to Miles Wood losing his mind at the Prudential Center, the New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers mix it up with old-time hockey.
Who said the New York Rangers were soft?
On Tuesday night at the Prudential Center, the place the fashionable kids call The Rock, Alain Vigneault‘s squad showcased a little toughness.
It all started when Miles Wood lost his damn mind. After taking a hard hit into the turnstile, courtesy of Nick Holden, he charged his way to the Rangers defenseman. This led to a little old-time hockey (as MSG’s Sam Rosen explained it) between the Rangers and the New Jersey Devils (video above).
Holden had Wood while Jimmy Vesey even held his own in a one-on-one bout.
Despite the Devils struggles this season, they’ve been game all night long. They showed up tough and it’s resulted in a nice hockey contest.
New Jersey leads New York 2-1 with the teams resting during the second intermission. Youngster John Quenneville tallied his first career NHL goal in the second period while on the power play:
